Symmetric-Matrix Automatic-Repeat-Request Scheme
Abstract
Automatic-repeat-request (ARQ) schemes are widely used for computer communications. This paper presents a new approach to ARQ protocols based on a matrix with a symmetric configuration; a low-complexity ARQ strategy called the symmetric-matrix ARQ (SMARQ) strategy is proposed. The SMARQ strategy incorporates error detection to correct one-bit errors without introducing additional parity bits, achieving optimal throughput efficiency. According to the throughput efficiency simulation results, the SMARQ is an efficient ARQ scheme.
