Special Issue on "Quality Assurance of Dependable Systems and Software" Theme and Scope The Internet has prevailed everywhere. Many things are connected and communicated with each other within the same network or among different networks to provide aggregated services that have significant impacts on our lives. Quality assurance has become a critical component at every stage in the development of these things. In this special issue, we focus such things on Dependable Software Systems, especially systems whose operations are initiated and/or controlled by software. We emphasize three major research domains: 1) the quality assurance of artifacts generated during various stages of the development, such as program code and design documents, 2) the definition and exploration of quality relationships among different development phases, such as the impact that the quality of requirements might have on the quality of the derived architecture, and 3) the investigation of how codification and communication of knowledge affects the quality these artifacts.
