Author Guidelines

Preparation of Manuscript


Language: The paper should be written in English. It should also include a title, abstract, and keywords in English.

Title page: The title page should be the first page and include the title, all authors' full names, one of the main institution name(s), city name(s), and country name(s) with which they are affiliated, and an e-mail address for correspondence. The number of the authors should not exceed five.

Abstract: The abstract and keyword should be written n English. It should not consist more than 200 words. 3~5 keywords should appear at the base of the abstract.

Text: The text of the paper should consist of an Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results, Discussion, and Conclusion. Acknowledgments may be given.

Length: The length of a full paper normally should not exceed 5,000 words. The word limit of each paper is 8,000 words, including the references and authors' short biographies. There is an additional USD$200 charge if the length of your paper is 5,001 words to 8,000 words.

Illustrations: All illustrations, including figures and tables, must be professionally rendered and suitable for reproduction. Words, numbers, and symbols should be large and clear enough to remain legible when the figure is reduced to column width (approx. 8 cm ). Each table should have a brief, concise title, and all units should be clearly indicated.

Equations and Mathematical Formulas: Equations should be typed and numbered serially on the right-hand side by Arabic numerals in parentheses, and camera-ready. Superscripts and subscripts should be indicated clearly.

Nomenclature: All symbols and units, English and Greek, should be indicated according to their meaning and dimensions in the text and/or in a list in alphabetical order.

Units: SI units are recommended to be used in the text, figures, and tables.

Reference: All references listed must be cited in the article text. Citations in the text are set as Arabic numeral in square brackets. References should be numbered in order of citation at the end of the paper and should appear in the following style:

  • Journal:
          [1] J. K. Author, Title of the Paper, Unabbreviated Name of Journal, Vol. x, No. x, pp. xxx-xxx, month, year.
  • Conference Proceedings:
          [2] J. K. Author, Title of the Paper, Unabbreviated Name of Conference, City, State, year, pp. xxx-xxx.
  • Books:

          [3] J. K. Author, Title of the Book, Publishing House, year.

  •  Theses:

          [4] J. K. Author, Title of the Thesis, Ph. D. Thesis, Publishing House, City, State, year.

  •  Reports:

          [5] J. K. Author, Title of the Report, Report No., month, year.

 

Article processing charge: From October 1st, 2024, the publication charge of each paper:

    Overseas:
      Within 5,000 words: USD$1,200.
      5,001 words- 8,000 words: USD$1,400.

    Within Taiwan:
      Within 5,000 words: NT$18,000.
      5,001 words- 8,000 words: NT$22,000.
      Note: The corresponding author or the first author is Taiwanese, whose main affiliation is Taiwanese institution, and issue a Taiwanese receipt.

    There are extra charges for USD$300-USD$1,000/1,000 words if your paper is over 8,000 words.

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  2. The submission file is in Microsoft Word document file format.
  3. Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  4. The text is single-spaced; uses a 10-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining; and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  5. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
