Mobile Agent Based Resource Monitoring for Job Submission in Grid with Virtual Database
Abstract
The Grid is a collection of large scale computational resources with additional complexity and provides an infrastructure to solve problems that are complicated. The distribution and heterogeneity of resources makes monitoring an important task in the Grid environment. In this paper, an approach is proposed to monitor the resources using mobile agents to select the suitable node for job submission and monitor the progress of the job. The Virtual DataBase (VDB) concept is used to reduce the query processing time. The systems in the grid are classified according to their resource consumer groups to form several VDBs. This enables a faster node selection process. The experimental results obtained have shown that there is a greater performance improvement while using our approach compared to the currently existing system.
