Metering with Fine Grained Pricing
Abstract
Web advertising has become a promising industry nowadays. A metering scheme aims to realize auditable web advertising by measuring the popularity of web ads. The previous metering schemes mainly focus on the measurement of either the clients’ visiting number of a server or the accessing time duration of the ads in a server. However, these schemes do not provide enough evidences to evaluate the popularity of the ads. This paper, for the first time, presents a new metering scheme which measures both the visiting number and the accessing time duration of the ads, and thus provides a more accurate and versatile metering scheme. Compared with the previous solutions, our scheme not only manages to provide more sufficient evidences for the measurement but also reinforces the security of the metering scheme.
