Abstract

In this paper, we develop an embedded network control system based on lightweight uIP stack to serve bridge safety detection machine. Firstly, we design a solution which combines embedded system and network module to meet practical requirements. Secondly, for hardware design, we adopt low-power-cost STM32F103 based on ARM Cortex-M3 cell as micro-controller and embedded Ethernet chip ENC28J60 to build the whole system platform. Particularly, we detail the design of peripheral circuits, such as I/O module, power supply module, and so on. For software design, considering the disadvantages of traditional TCP/IP protocol stack for the design of embedded systems, we utilize lightweight uIP stack and perform the whole transplantation process. We make two editions of the upper machine software which are running on PC end and smartphone end, respectively. Finally, a series of function and performance verifications show that the embedded network control system proposed can satisfy the design requirements (e.g., connectivity and stability), and achieve intelligence of bridge safety detection.
