Special Issue: IoT for Smart Learning Environments

IoT for Smart Learning Environments

Educational Industry has been continuous adapting to technological advancement since its inception. The access to digital space has increased huge opportunities for the learning world. Conservative Models in learning have seen both success and failure over the years. Specialized approaches with personalized factors have become one of the important learning curve for students with the implementation of smart learning environment. There is variety of smart learning cultures prevailing in the environment, every institution or organization has their own approaches, procedures, techniques and process in the creation of learning environment. Since all students have different abilities inculcating smart learning methods may bring the hidden abilities. The failure in every learning system is the focus of human centered challenges.

The Internet of Things will be a perfect technology for the control of various things in a learning environment. With several IoT technologies several devices can be connected to a network on a real time basis. Utilizing the smart devices in the learning environment like Smart Television, Computing devices, Apps in mobile devices, various tracking sensors and many more can be used in the administering of smart learning. In addition, implementing IoT based security and safety measures is also an added advantage of creating a quality learning environment. Educational innovations enhanced in physical spaces shall create a faster and perfect learning curve. The use of context-aware components considering the learners point of view is an important and needed advancement for smart learning. IoT can digitally connect academicians, teachers, counselors, students in a single platform; it also serves as a tool and provides additional support based on the requirements. While integrating IoT with SLE effective user framework and interfacing methods are the important layers. Since the main objective of the integration is the need of ubiquitous learning, the outcomes of the process may require knowledge, performance, assessment, feedback for the completion of the SLE.

However putting forth an extra concentration on the areas of planning, framework, protocol, algorithm for smart sensing can increase the high performance of hardware platform or software framework. The main aim of this special issue is to invite scholars, academicians and professional to submit their research oriented ideas and implementations related to IoT for Smart Learning Environments.

Scope of this special issue is as following but not limited to:

● Creating an Ubiquitous learning environment using IoT

● Sensor data processing and integration for Smart Learning Environments
