An Improved Linear Minimum-Mean-Square-Error Detector
Abstract
It may be a misconception that the conventional linear Minimum-Mean-Square-Error (MMSE) Detector is the best linear Detector. It is optimal if only the second-order statistics with zero time-lag are allowed to be used. Because the second-order statistics with non-zero lags have useful applications, an improved linear MMSE Detector is proposed in the paper. It is a linear MMSE Detector based on the received signal and its delayed signal. Both the results of theory and simulation show that this is an improved linear Detector over the conventional one.
Keywords
Linear MMSE Detector, Second-order statistics, Non-zero time-lags.
