Performance Analysis of a Multichannel Dynamically Aggregative MAC Protocol for WSNs
Abstract
In this paper, a multichannel dynamically aggregative medium access control (DA-MAC) protocol is proposed for wireless sensor networks. We develop a self-adaptive burst size control algorithm to adaptively adjust burst size according to the wireless channel quality. To evaluate the performance of DA-MAC, a three-dimensional Markov chain model has been developed. Numerical and simulation results show that energy efficiency and overhead can be significantly improved by the proposed DA-MAC.
