Theme and Scope Innovative solutions provided by communication technologies have significantly contributed to addressing future challenges in social, environmental, and economic domains. These solutions enhance efficiency, strengthen network usage, and facilitate more informed decision-making. Notably, the Internet of Things (IoT), which integrates machines and other entities into network systems, demands increasingly sophisticated communication. Consequently, dynamic interactions within networks are crucial for connecting intelligent machines. The collaboration of digital twins necessitates sensor data, which are embedded within pervasive cyber-physical systems composed of physical objects. Therefore, the EAI SGIoT 2024 special issue focuses on exploring applications and addressing significant research challenges. This special issue emphasizes practical and effective approaches that meet societal needs through improved resource utilization, collaboration, competence transfer, status verification, privacy protection, security, and safety. The topics covered, though not limited to, include healthcare, safety, retail, finance, energy, audio-visual, and legal industries. These areas are integral to the future development of intelligent societies and industries. Topics appropriate for this special issue include, but are not limited to:
Papers submitted to the special issue should contain original materials not published in nor submitted to other journals. Proposed Submissions The guest editors expect that this special issue of JIT will attract not only the outstanding results from local researchers but also good quality papers from around the world. Quality of the special issue will be guaranteed. In addition, the guest editors may work with the Editor-in-chief of the journal to invite distinguished researchers in the related areas for position papers. Authors whose selected papers have been accepted and presented at the SGIoT 2024 (http://sgiot.org/) are also invited to submit an extended and revised version of their papers to this special issue. The papers must have at least 70% new material compared to the conference paper.
