Special Issue on “Selected papers from MobiSec 2016” Theme and Scope During the past two decades, mobile Internet technologies have been dramatically growing while leading to a paradigm shift in our everyday life. Despites their revolution, mobile Internet technologies also open doors to various security threats, which should be addressed to keep mobile Internet environments to be secure and trustable. Even worse, the latest technologies, e.g. distributed mobility management, mobile Internet of things, 5G networks, and so forth, are continuously introducing new security challenges. Therefore, it is of paramount importance to study mobile Internet security.
The 1st International Conference on Mobile Internet Security (MobiSec 2016) was held in Taichung, Taiwan on 13-16 July, 2016. It brought together the academic and industrial researchers working on different aspects to exchange ideas, and explore new research directions for addressing the challenges in mobility Internet security.
The main goal of this special issue is to provide an opportunity for researchers and practitioners to contribute with original research and review articles. It will publish outstanding papers selected from those accepted by and presented in MobiSec 2016. Each selected paper must be substantially extended, with at least 40% of difference from its conference version. The special issue on "MobiSec 2016" is estimated to be published in July 2018.
Topics of this special issue include, but are not limited to: • New security vulnerabilities and threats in mobile internet and networks • Security issues and protocols for mobile internet and networks • Privacy and trust for mobile internet and networks • Security for cross-layer handover • Security for vertical handover in heterogeneous networks • New advances in the AAA infrastructure and EAP • Security for 4G and 5G networks • Security for mobile WIMAX and WIBRO, and WIFI • Security for IoT and wearable devices • Security for mobile internet services and applications • Advances in mobile internets and networks • Others and emerging new topics
