Special Issue on “Intelligent Service for Internet of Things: Theory and Applications”

Theme and Scope

Recent developments in theory and applications of distributed and wireless/wired sensor and actuator networks are vital for Internet of Things. Sensor networks is an interdisciplinary field, including many fields, such as wireless networks and communications, signal processing, embedded systems, information management, and Intelligent Service. The Internet of Things (IoT) is the interconnection of uniquely identifiable computing devices, systems, and services within all the possible existing networking infrastructure. Typically, IoT is expected to offer advanced connectivity, which goes beyond machine-to-machine sensor communications and covers a variety of protocols, domains, and applications. Here we focus on the related theory and applications about sensor intelligent service for IoT. Intelligent services can delivery us with all kinds of IT solutions and services, which leads any organization to lead it’s market with good cloud Quality of Service (QoS), reduce it’s cost and rise up it’s profit. Intelligent services connect the gap between developers, architect and build planners with the best-of-breed intelligent and green building technologies, practice thus reduce costs, quick return investments, add comfort, obtain value and ease to build occupants. All lead to sustainable communities.

The major enabling technologies that are giving a flying kick start to IoT are the intelligent service for ad hoc and wireless sensor networks (WSNs), real-time systems, low power and energy harvesting, radio frequency identification, resource-constrained networks, embedded software, and others. The emergence and appearance of various intelligent service of wireless sensor networks have brought about lot of changes as well as opportunities. However, many new challenges confront researchers.

For this, this Special Issue of JIT is addressing a call to researchers and academics for innovative papers submissions on the following (not limited) list of topics:

l  Intelligent service standard

l  Trust models for IoT services

l  Cost/efficiency of intelligent services for IoT

l  Optimization mechanisms for IoT services

l  IoT resource allocation and indexing

l  Data mining in IoT computing

l  Autonomic services in IoT computing

l  Multimedia services for IoT

l  Virtualization services for IoT

l  Smart home services based on IoT computing

l  Intelligent services in vehicular IoT

l  Information security in IoT -based intelligent service

l  Social networks in IoT computing

l  Intra- and inter- IoT computing issues and considerations
